Coraopolis Poetry Slam

Slam poetry is performance art. The event is open to anyone who wishes to participate.

Standard three round elimination. Every participating poet is tasked with composing THREE compelling, four minute poems about social issues, city life, or personal triumphs.

Rules:

Your poem must contain original content.
You have four minutes to perform, plus a 30 second grace period.
No props, costumes, instruments, etc.
Your performance and content will be scored on a 0 - 30 basis. The mean of those scores determines your final score. No cumulative scoring.
Tie breakers are determined by audience participation. The audience is encouraged to be vocal about tie-breaking.

Judges will be selected from the audience. If you have prior experience judging a poetry slam, please volunteer.

A grand prize (TBA closer to the date) will be awarded to the poet with the highest score either through general judging or through tie breaking.
